Well it certainly has been a while since I've updated this journal, as per usual. As some of you may know, I applied for the Applied Photography course at the Wascana SIAST campus here in Regina earlier this year. I got a letter back in late May saying while I had met the requirements, they couldn't offer me a seat in the course at this time. While being a real bummer, I realized just how hard it was to get into the course, which only has around 10 seats per year. I had my hopes up real high, since at the interview part of the application process, the instructors had said they thought my portfolio was "Impressive". So when the rejected letter came in the mail I was suuuuuper bummed out.

However! This past Tuesday while I was on a road trip with my friend from Idaho that came up here to meet me, I got a voicemail on my phone that I realized was there while we were stopped in a Tim Horton's parking lot when we stopped for coffee (I was getting super tired/bored from driving all day) and Timbits. I didn't recognize the number, so when I called my voicemail to pick up the message and heard it was from Registration Services at SIAST I was simply vibrating from excitement in my seat. The message said someone had dropped out of the course that morning, before the classes had even started, and I was first on the "waiting" list for such an occasion! The woman (Cindy) gave me a 24 hour deadline to call her back, or she would go on to the next person on the list. Of course I called her back right away, trying to keep my excitement under control so I wouldn't sound like a total nut on the phone. Right after I disconnected the call with Cindy, I called my parents who of course didn't answer the phone, so I had to leave a message for them, and then my boyfriend Andrew got a message as well.

I am SO SUPER PUMPED I'm going to be going to school in the fall! Finally!!!!! I can't believe my luck right now, and I don't even think it's really sunk all the way in that I'M GOING TO SCHOOL THIS FALL! For photography!! AHHHH I can't wait! I start September 8th and right now I don't think September can get here fast enough!! (Though I'm having fun with Sara being up here, of course!)

Just thought I'd share with everyone In two years I'll be a real pro photographer and actually know what I'm doing moreso than I already do now.
